The Female Unicorn Syndrome

There is a particular kind of anger welling up inside me. Women as Creators are being destroyed. They certainly have been attacked by cultural norms over time. While we continue through history physically witnessing the bloodbaths of mothers who have created life all over the planet suffering needless destruction by the hand of imperialist male leaders in Bangladesh, Bosnia, Rwanda, Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, Congo, etc.. now Ukraine… we are ignoring something incredibly important that is happening around us. It is a kind of slow creep that is destroying what it singularly means to be born female.

The newly ordained flexible considerations of gender preference completely omit the magic and mystery of the biology and neurology females are born to. Entire mythologies exist based upon women’s fantastic powers. Intuition. Magnetism. Voyeurism. We are Empaths and Charmers with profound connection to forces of Mother Nature, Life, Creation and Death. Each of us has these powers deep within us, but our culture has relegated them to the female warriors of Marvel Comics. We no long live our own Magic, we have given it away to the media. We have let ourselves down, down, down… to binge watching other magical beings on a flat screen while we need to be living our own magic 3D, Realtime.

What has happened to our own Supreme Energy? When men can dress as women, and even physically ‘become’ them, while wanting to be given fair consideration in society… what happens to actual, authentic, empowered, empathic, intuitive biological WOMEN? We become Whitewashed. We become neutralized. We have to ‘share’ our space. We become part of a bigger category of beings that mark the female check box on forms and questionnaires. But not all are answering the questions from an innate sense of divine femininity. Can one dress up to draw from the eternal feminine energy? Will it matter? If it is no longer given value for its own sake, what will happen to us? It is the fact that I have to ask this question that angers me. Because I want people to have freedom to make their choice. I want people who feel displaced to be able to find their own way. I am happy for diversity and the ability to live one’s life as one wishes. But I worry about what actually happens to us as female magical creatures. I think back to the Unicorn Tapestries. Will we be hunted down if we display too much uniqueness beyond marking the female checkbox or wish to be given credit for our unique female magic when credit is due? Will there be any room for us to shine when left in a sea of frustrated sexual beings searching for the genetic Identity?

I want us to have our own checkbox! I want to be identified with the group that is born to our magic! That’s it! I’ll just check the Goddess box and be done with it!
